Abstract: Assessing the velocity of growth in height is essential for preventive health care and the clinical evaluation of growth. We provide practical tables with common centiles for annual changes in the height-for-age z-scores (HAZ), and correction factors for assessing short-term changes in HAZ depending on the time interval between two successive measurements (ranging from 42 to 170 days), and for series of multiple measurements of height.
