Abstract: ReseaRch aRticlebeams intersect. It is the treatment of choice for PCO to alleviate diminution of vision.Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser has its potential complications, which include raised intraocular pressure (IOP), uveitis, retinal detachment, 7 cystoid macular edema (CME).8 Several factors contribute to the rise of the IOP after capsulotomy, including the neurovascular response, inflammation, and pupillary block with the resulting angle closure.9 Peak IOP rise usually happens 1-4 hours postprocedure.10 But in some cases, IOP IntroductIonCataracts account for about 62.6% of all blindness in India and are a leading cause of blindness.1 Over numerous eye care centers, the most frequently conducted eye surgery for cataract is ECCE with implantation of PCIOL. 2 One of the most common causes for visual morbidity postcataract surgery is posterior capsular opacification.Greek cites 7-31% of patients are affected by posterior capsular opacification, in the 2 years after surgery.3 The pathophysiological process for posterior capsule opacification (PCO) involves both cellular and molecular mechanisms. The common reason is the dislodgement of lens epithelial cells (LEC).4 The prevention of PCO can be done with square-edge intraocular lenses (IOLs) and during phacoemulsification by polishing and LEC aspiration.5 Today, the neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser is by far the most popular choice due to its noninvasive nature, as it is an OPD procedure.6 A quick pulsed Nd:YAG laser is used to apply a series of focal ablations to the posterior capsule and create a small circular opening in the visual axis. This solid-state laser operates with an infrared (IR) light at a wavelength of 1064 nm.To ensure precise targeting, the device includes a red Helium-Neon (He-Ne) laser aiming beam, which is aligned through the same optical pathway in the slit lamp. The disruption of tissue occurs at the focal point where the two laser
