The Geometric Ontogenesis of Alphanumeric Systems: a Formal Analysis of the Universal Monogram and Its Topological Properties
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This research investigates the Universal Monogram, a sophisticated geometric construct capable of generating the complete Latin alphanumeric system (26 letters and 10 numerals) from a single unified matrix. Through rigorous topological and semiotic analysis, this study demonstrates how the intersection of Euclidean geometry and typographic design creates a generative framework for symbolic communication. The monogram consists of two overlapping circles inscribed within a rectangular frame, augmented by diagonal, horizontal, and vertical axes that collectively encode all alphanumeric characters through selective extraction of line segments and arcs. Employing methods from computational geometry, Gestalt psychology, and information theory, this paper establishes that the Universal Monogram represents an optimal solution to information compression, achieving maximal symbolic density through minimal geometric elements. Quantitative analysis reveals that the system operates on principles of recursive symmetry, modular decomposition, and topological transformation. The findings suggest profound implications for understanding the relationship between geometric form and linguistic meaning, proposing that symbolic systems may possess inherent geometric structures that transcend cultural and historical contingencies. This work contributes to interdisciplinary discourse spanning cognitive science, semiotics, typography, and sacred geometry, while providing a mathematical framework for analyzing symbolic generation systems.
