Abstract: We present a structural and variational analysis of recent experimental proposals aimed at testing the quantum nature of gravity via gravitationally induced entanglement between mesoscopic spin systems. Using a closed, parameter-free variational framework (the Universal Ψ Equation), we examine whether the interaction mechanisms assumed in these proposals can arise from any consistent action principle or field equation. We show that the central Hamiltonian terms employed in spin-based quantum gravity experiments—typically proportional to Gm2/rG m^2 / rGm2/r and treated as entangling mediators—are not derivable from a closed variational structure. In particular, we demonstrate that no bilocal kernel, mass-dependent coupling, or cross-body operator of the form required for gravitationally induced entanglement can emerge from a self-contained algebraic variational principle without externally imposed operators, background structures, or phenomenological parameters. Our analysis establishes that the proposed entanglement mechanisms lack a generator, violate minimal variational integrity conditions, and rely on interactions introduced by assumption rather than derivation. These inconsistencies arise prior to any experimental or numerical considerations and therefore invalidate the theoretical interpretation independently of measurement precision or feasibility. More generally, this work highlights a structural limitation of current approaches to quantum gravity phenomenology: experimental signatures based on ad hoc effective Hamiltonians cannot constitute evidence for quantum gravity unless the underlying interaction is shown to arise from a closed and self-consistent variational theory. The results suggest that the continued search for quantum-gravitational effects within phenomenological extensions of open theories risks probing assumptions rather than physical mechanisms.
