Abstract: The necessary information on medicinal plants and the issue of cherishing nature, which are united by the general concept of "environmental protection", also make the protection of individual plants a matter of great importance. Therefore, it is necessary first of all to know the plants that must be protected. Many workers who deal with medicinal plants in one way or another do not have the education that would allow them to use specialised manuals on medicinal plants. For this reason, it is important for those interested in the purposeful study, collection, preparation, cultivation, processing and use of medicinal plants to read and seek out basic information about the appearance of plants, their growing conditions, their medicinal properties and the possibilities of using them. Only then can the advancement of folk medicine be achieved.
