Abstract: Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2) is a chemokine that promotes tumor progression by sustaining myeloid recruitment, inducing immunosuppression, driving proliferation, and conferring resistance to a range of therapies, including anti-PD-L1. MCP-1 is abundantly expressed in the tumor microenvironment (TME) by tumor cells and regulatory immune cells such as TAMs, MDSCs, and CAFs, with its expression correlating with poor overall survival across several malignancies. The high expression and clinical relevance of MCP-1 suggest that it is a promising tumor microenvironment antigen (TMA) candidate for immune modulatory vaccine (IMV) development.
