Posthydrocephalus corpus callosum damage and its mimics: A case report
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Hydrocephalus is a frequently encountered finding on routine brain imaging. A common underlying cause is aqueductal stenosis , which is typically diagnosed in the pediatric population. However, approximately 10% of aqueductal stenosis cases are identified in adults . Posthydrocephalus corpus callosum damage has been reported primarily in patients undergoing decompressive surgery for chronic hydrocephalus such as aqueductal stenosis . This case report emphasizes the importance of recognizing these entities on imaging to avoid misdiagnosis and prevent unnecessary investigations or interventions.
