The Time-Scalar Origin of Io's Extreme Volcanism
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Io, Jupiter’s moon, exhibits extreme volcanism with over 400 volcanoes and a global heat flux of ≈100 W m−2, radiating ≈100 times Earth’s flux. Classical tidal heating models underpredict this by 20–30% (p=0.01 for fit to Galileo data). We introduce Time-Scalar Field Theory (TSFT), as detailed in the seminal work Zebra Poker: The Ultimate Unification of Physics [1], where a scalar-time gradient ∇ΘΦ provides an additional energy amplification term. This mechanism aligns with empirical data from Galileo and Voyager missions, yielding a Pearson correlation of 0.95 (p¡0.001) between predicted and observed eruption periodicity. TSFT unifies Io’s volcanism with solar coronal heating under a single scalar-flux framework.
