Hidden Exploitative Control Under Apparent Relational Stability: A Dynamic State-Flow Case Study of Manipulation, Resource Extraction, and Deceptive Attachment Using a 48-State Framework Case Study Using a 48-State Interaction Framework

Abstract: This working paper presents a longitudinal qualitative case study examining a relational system characterised by covert exploitative control, sustained deception, and asymmetric resource extraction. The focal subject exhibited outward markers of relational stability and commitment while maintaining hidden parallel state flows involving financial manipulation, emotional instrumentalisation, and identity compartmentalisation. Using a 48-state interaction framework, the paper models how exploitative behaviours can remain undetected within a coupled system when control-oriented states dominate transition dynamics. The case serves as an extended illustration of a Control-Dominant (C-type) state configuration, with secondary Boundary-Adaptive (B-type) features, and is intended as a methodological calibration rather than a diagnostic or causal claim. Within the broader 48-state system, this case functions as a contrastive illustration to defensive-withdrawal cases, highlighting how superficially stable relationships can conceal exploitative state architectures that are invisible to trait-based descriptions.
