Investigating the Influence of Reinforcement Patterns on the Dynamic and Mechanical Properties of 3D Printed Carbon/Glass Fiber Hybrid Composites: A Review

Year: 2025
Type: review
Abstract: 3D Printing, also called additive manufacturing (AM), has become an important manufacturing technique compared to traditional methods due to its capacity to provide customization and flexible design options. This study offers a comprehensive review of different AM processes, materials, their comparative analysis, and their applications in various industries. The application of fiber reinforced polymer matrix composites in structural uses has received significant attention in composite research. This review aims to gather and present the methodologies and results from studies on 3 D printing fiber reinforced polymer composites. The focus of this review is on the process parameters that can be easily modified during the production of 3D Printed components, which have been widely studied. In addition to common factors influencing composite performance such as fiber orientation, fiber volume fractions, and stacking sequence, printing parameters like infill density, infill pattern, nozzle speed, layer thickness, build orientation, nozzle temperatures and bed temperatures have been found to greatly affect the mechanical and dynamic properties of printed parts
