Abstract: This study aims to analyze the particle Lawlā in the Qur'an and to uncover its established meanings and linguistic and rhetorical functions in light of the Qur'anic context, with particular emphasis on the contexts of reproach and warning as among the most influential in directing discourse. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, based on tracing the occurrences of Lawlā in the Qur'anic text and examining the relationship between its syntactic structure and its contextual and pragmatic meanings, drawing on the insights of classical grammarians, exegetes, and rhetoricians. The findings reveal that Lawlā is a composite particle endowed with dynamic semantic potential, whose meanings vary between prevention due to existence, exhortation, reproach, and warning, depending on the linguistic and situational context. The study further demonstrates that a proper understanding of Lawlā cannot be achieved in isolation from the broader context of the verse and the communicative purpose of the discourse. This research highlights the interconnection between grammar, semantics, and rhetoric in the analysis of Qur'anic particles of meaning and contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of context in shaping meaning and constructing Qur'anic discourse.
