Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the effects of scalp and hair conditions and hair loss stress on scalp care behaviors among adults in their 20s and 30s, and to provide fundamental data for developing strategies to promote scalp health and prevent hair loss in young adults. A total of 258 male and female participants aged between 20 and 39 were surveyed through an online questionnaire, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 28.0. Reliability tests, validity tests, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted. The results revealed that first, scalp and hair conditions showed a significant positive correlation with hair loss stress, indicating that deteriorating scalp and hair health increases psychological burden related to hair loss. Second, hair loss stress had a significant positive effect on scalp care behaviors, meaning that individuals with higher stress levels were more likely to engage in scalp care activities such as using specialized products or visiting professional care centers. Third, among the variables, hair condition had a significant effect on scalp care behaviors, whereas scalp condition did not. This suggests that visible hair changes serve as stronger motivators for care behaviors than invisible scalp problems. These findings highlight the necessity of developing customized scalp-hair care programs that integrate psychological support, as well as early diagnosis systems and educational initiatives to improve awareness of scalp and hair health among the 2030 generation.
