Misophonia and Moral Emotions
Year: 2024
Type: other
Abstract: The genesis of the aversive emotional response to specific sounds in the context of misophonia is poorly understood. The emotion that has received the most attention in the misophonia literature is anger. The current research examined whether moral meaning attributed to misophonia-inducing sounds partially explains the aversive emotional response to these sounds. The current research also examined whether other moral emotions, in addition to anger, are involved in the emotional response to misophonia-inducing sounds.
