Understanding Co-creation of Fused Data: Discovering, Accessing, Harmonising, and Integrating Heterogeneous Data Sources

Abstract: This presentation, delivered by Marco Comerio (Cefriel) at the International Symposium “Navigating the Future of Traffic Management” in Athens (29 June - 3 July 2025), explores the critical challenges of data interoperability in the context of intelligent and cooperative traffic management. The presentation details a comprehensive solution to address these challenges, including (i) a robust data catalogue, (ii) a reference conceptual model, (iii) data APIs and (iv) semantic harmonisation and fusion pipelines. Special emphasis is placed on the importance of adopting an effective metadata profile, illustrated through practical experience gained in the EvoRoads Horizon Europe project (Grant agreement ID: 101147850).
