Abstract: Summary statement Light signaling links growth and immunity through phytochromes and PIF/PIL transcription factors in rice. OsPIL1 negatively regulates blast resistance under light but supports partial defense in darkness while promoting growth. OsPIL1 provides a framework for balancing yield and immunity, guiding sustainable rice improvement strategies.
