Abstract: Peripheral nerve injuries are one of the most debilitating injuries of the upper limb. These injuries are most commonly secondary to trauma, which includes crush, lacerations, burning, traction, stretching, or ischemia. Early diagnosis and treatment are imperative for patients with such extremity injuries. We present a 46-year-old male sustaining a penetrating injury to his right forearm resulting in combined ulnar and median nerve palsy. Relevant surgical anatomy and clinical examination are discussed for this patient’s injury. Elicitation of clinical tests for diagnosing peripheral nerve injuries is a pivotal part in early recognition of the pathology, which allows for prompt treatment and favourable patient outcomes.
