Human Resource Management in Agriculture

Abstract: Agricultural farms in Bulgaria operate in conditions of high seasonality and chronic labor shortages, which determines the need to implement management approaches to address their impact. The aim of the article is to identify current practices, problems and opportunities in strategic human resource management (SHRM) in agricultural enterprises. The level of strategic human resource management is poorly developed, with a focus on operational rather than long-term activities. The main barriers to HR management are staff shortages, low pay, and high turnover.
