Zonas tranquilas em cidades

Abstract: In the context of population growth in urban areas, places for relaxation have become increasingly necessary. Quiet Area fit into this concept, with several studies demonstrating their health benefits. Therefore, they are included in the European Directive as spaces to be mapped and preserved for the benefit of the population. However, the legal framework in the city of São Paulo has not yet recognized their importance, nor has it developed an agenda to promote the city's acoustic quality. The first objective of this article is to analyze Tenente Siqueira Campos Park, widely known as Trianon Park, and evaluate if it can be framed as a Quiet Area. To achieve this, a methodology is proposed that combines various tools using data available online. Sound pressure levels, from noise maps or acoustic measurements, are quantitative data. For qualitative data, two tools were used: first, the Hush City app, a crowdsourcing tool focused on soundscape evaluation; and second, TRAPT, a calculation developed to predict quiet areas based on photos and sound pressure level. The second objective is to discuss the role of noise mapping in identifying Quiet Areas in intensely dense neighborhoods, such as Jardins. The analysis indicates that Trianon Park would qualify as a Quiet Area, despite its sound pressure level exceeding the European Environment Agency's limits.
