From the desk of the editor: 2025 – The year gone by

Abstract: The Journal of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (JCDE) has undergone a significant transformation over the past 3 years. From being a bimonthly publication with six issues annually, it has now grown into a monthly journal publishing 12 issues per year. This transition reflects the rising volume of quality submissions and the growing recognition of the journal within the global dental research community. Today, JCDE is indexed in PubMed and has proudly secured its place as a Q1 Scopus-indexed journal. It is insightful to review the journal’s performance over the past 2 years [Table 1]. The statistics presented include activities undertaken by the editorial team, authors, and reviewers on manuscripts processed during the selected period, irrespective of the original submission date.Table 1: Year-wise report of activity of the Journal of Conservative Dentistry and EndodonticsIn 2025, the journal received 1100 submissions, resulting in an acceptance rate of 19.63%. In comparison, 874 submissions were received in the previous year, with a higher acceptance rate of 24.71%. This substantial increase in submissions has naturally contributed to a marginal rise in manuscript processing time; however, it also underscores the expanding relevance, credibility, and visibility of JCDE across the international research landscape. It is heartening to witness the surge in high-quality scientific research originating from India in the specialty of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. This progress is a matter of great pride for the country. On the global front too, there has been significant interest in JCDE, with a growing number of international submissions and publications further enhancing the journal’s footprint worldwide. As we step into the New Year, we remain committed to further strengthening the scientific integrity, visibility, and international reach of JCDE. The remarkable growth we have achieved is a testament to the collective passion within our community for advancing knowledge in our field. We aim to continue fostering an environment that encourages high-quality research while embracing innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence. The continued support from our authors, reviewers, editorial team, and readers inspires us to achieve even greater benchmarks in scholarly publishing. On behalf of the entire editorial board, I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this journey. Together, we look forward to another year of impactful research and progressive growth that will shape the future of our discipline and the journal.
