Defective TiO x spontaneously triggers the hydrogenation activity of silver

Abstract: The reactive metal–support interaction (RMSI) between Ag and defective TiO x spontaneously triggers the selective silver-catalyzed hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate to methyl glycolate, enabling a >5-fold increase in TOF without prereduction.
