Physical development and functional fitness of Uzbekistan students under the influence of systematic cycling training

Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Clinical Trial
Abstract: In the context of the implementation of state programs for health improvement of the population of Uzbekistan, the search for effective means of physical development of young people is becoming particularly relevant. The purpose of this study was to experimentally investigate the effects of a six-month, systematic cycling training program on the physical development (strength, speed, endurance, coordination) and functional fitness (primarily cardiorespiratory indicators) of male university students in Uzbekistan. The article presents the results of a six-month study of the influence of systematic cycling training on the physical development and functional fitness of university students in Uzbekistan. The pedagogical experiment involved 30 students divided into control and experimental groups. The research results demonstrate statistically significant improvement in physical fitness indicators in the experimental group students compared to the control group. The most pronounced progress was noted in the development of strength endurance (pull-ups +72%, torso lifts +70%), coordination abilities (jump rope +57%) and the cardiorespiratory system (heart rate reduction after exercise by 29.6%). The research results confirm the effectiveness of cycling training as a means of comprehensive physical development and can be used in the development of physical education programs in universities of Uzbekistan. Thus, systematic cycling training is a highly effective means of comprehensive development of physical qualities - strength, endurance, speed, and coordination - as well as improvement of the functional state of the cardiorespiratory system among young men.
