Abstract: This study examines the significance and applications of qualitative research methods in social science research. Qualitative research provides nuanced understandings of complex social phenomena, offering rich, detailed insights into human behavior, attitudes, and experiences. The study explores the philosophical underpinnings, methodological approaches, strengths, and weaknesses of qualitative research methods. It also discusses the implications of qualitative research findings for social science theory, policy, and practice. The study highlights the importance of qualitative research in understanding complex social phenomena, giving voice to marginalized groups, and uncovering hidden patterns. By using qualitative research methods, researchers can gain a deeper understanding of social phenomena, contribute to theory development, and inform policy and practice.
