Abstract: Summary statement We commentary on the publication in PCE about providing insights into the role of GPT2, a plastidial glucose 6‐phosphate:phosphate (Glc6P/Pi) co‐translocator, in regulating lignin biosynthesis in Arabidopsis stem tissues. The authors investigate how overexpression of GPT2 influences lignin content, composition, and associated metabolic pathways.
