Practical AI and Automation Solutions for K-12 Schools in India: A Professional Practice Documentation
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This document presents four case studies selected from over 14 years of work designing and implementing technology solutions for K-12 schools in India. These cases represent approximately 5% of the author's work, chosen because they are recent, well-documented, and have replicable open-source code. Using Google Workspace tools, cloud infrastructure, and generative AI, these four interventions alone saved over 1,200 staff-hours annually while improving security, reducing data entry errors by 90–100%, and eliminating software licensing costs entirely. The full scope of similar work over 14 years is substantially larger. Case studies included: 1. AI-Powered IT Helpdesk Chatbot (using Gemini AI) 2. Unified Student Database Automation (1,000+ staff-hours saved) 3. Digital Transformation of School Admissions (bilingual English/Tamil) 4. Enterprise WiFi with Google Workspace SSO (FreeRADIUS on GCP) All solutions use free or low-cost tools, making them replicable for resource-constrained schools. Source code is available on GitHub.
