Primary renal angiosarcoma with renal vein thrombus: Case report and Review of literature
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Primary angiosarcoma of the kidney is extremely rare and aggressive cancer when it presents renal vein thrombus. This presentation confers poor prognosis, with limited therapeutic options. We present a case that began with anemia and macroscopic hematuria. At diagnosis, computed tomography (CT) showed thrombosis of the left renal vein, and a radical nephrectomy was performed. Histological examination revealed a carcinoma of the collecting ducts of Bellini, with immunohistochemistry positive for epithelioid angiosarcoma.
