Abstract: Christian healthcare chaplaincy is founded on Christ himself -his life, teachings, and healings as well as his death and resurrection.His repeated words spoken in the context of his healings, "Your faith has made you well", provide a framework for Christian spiritual care and the goals of Christian healing.These words embody the source of healing, the process by which healing takes place, and the goal to which Christian healing is directed.Employing theological reflection and a patient case, this chapter aims to illuminate this Christ-centered framework and illustrate how it informs Christian spiritual care in the medical setting.Accordingly, Christian healthcare chaplaincy is sourced in faith in the triune God, centered on personal and communal practices of restoring wholeness and directed to ultimate wholeness found in Christ.
