High CTC, high-risk cytogenetics: a dangerous duo in MM?

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: defective receptor editing and persistence of autoreactive immature B cells may be an important mechanism in the pathogenesis of other autoimmune diseases.8 The findings by Sheng et al support a breakdown in early B-cell central tolerance due to deficient BCR editing is a key contributor to pathophysiology of ITP.Characterization of the mechanisms underlying the repression of RAG and ineffective BCR editing in immature B cells will be critical to identify new opportunities for diagnosis, risk stratification, and treatment of patients with ITP.
