Abstract: The global rise in the elderly population presents increasing demands on healthcare systems and rehabilitation services. Geriatric rehabilitation is not merely about restoring physical function but also about addressing psychological, emotional, and social needs that impact recovery and quality of life. Physiotherapy is essential in improving mobility, preventing falls, and enhancing independence, while psychology plays a critical role in motivation, cognitive functioning, and emotional well-being. This paper critically examines the integration of psychology and physiotherapy in geriatrics rehabilitation, drawing from recent evidence and proposing a biopsychosocial framework. The study emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration as a necessity for improving outcomes in older adults.
