Abstract: A-100 ultra-high-strength steel has been widely used in landing gear structures. However, for new-generation aircraft with higher landing mass and speed, its weight becomes excessive. To address this challenge, this study investigates the structural optimization of a landing gear component using titanium alloy as a replacement material. Initially, the original topology was retained, and the dimensions of the conventional design were adjusted for a target mass reduction of 20% with the new material. However, this resulted in excessive stress and insufficient stiffness.Subsequently, an integrated optimization strategy combining topology optimization, parameter optimization, and shape optimization was implemented to enhance structural performance. The optimized design achieved a maximum stress of 860.6 MPa, which is below the allowable stress of 875 MPa, and a weight reduction of 28.4%. Furthermore, static and fatigue tests demonstrated that the optimized structure maintains sufficient safety margins under cyclic loading, with a fatigue life significantly exceeding design requirements. The findings demonstrate that the proposed design methodology successfully achieves both lightweight objectives and high structural reliability, offering a valuable reference for the engineering application of critical landing gear components.
