About the problems in UNESCO's activities in the field of preserving the cultural heritage of Arab countries

Abstract: The article is devoted to the issues and problems of the protection of unique monuments of world importance located in the Arab countries and the participation of UNESCO in this activity. The author explores the history and role of UNESCO in implementing the idea of international responsibility for the preservation of outstanding cultural and natural treasures in these countries. The article pays great attention to the status of Arab and Islamic monuments in the List of World Heritage Sites.
