Abstract: Hvorfor deltog du i Den Alternative Forelæsningstække? Hvorfor var dit forelæsningsemne essentielt for psykologien? "Dear organisers” Den Alternative Forelæsningsrække”/ The alternative lecture series Thanks a lot for inviting me to revisit the positive memories of my lecture in March 2023. A great experience presenting my research and co-creating knowledge with the diverse audience. I accepted the invitation to support the courageous and creative students, the group of organizers, in your quest for contributing to develop an inclusive, relevant and global valid psychology in Denmark, despite the formal hindrances. Besides, it was an honour to return to University of Copenhagen, after almost a quarter of century after my PhD in 2000. My lecture "Family life beyond ethnocentric beliefs: Developmental psychological challenges and exploring ethnically mixed couples" was a rare opportunity to share my research-based knowledge in a global context with a broad audience in Denmark. Global knowledge about family dynamics especially mixing across racial/ ethnic borders, unfortunately is rather overlooked in Denmark/ Nordic region. Moreover, the lecture mental health promotion and psychosocial intervention, contributing to develop further both developmental and clinical / counselling psychology based on empirical research in a Danish context with a global outreach. Another reason for my participation was to explore possibility to collaborate across the universities. It did result in a concrete enquiry leading to some academic exchange, for the publication this year about mixed couples: Singla, R. (2025) "Interracial Relationships in Denmark: Couples across Racial/ Ethnic Borders" (pp 207- 219). In Moodley, Kenney & Raghunandan (Eds.) The Routledge International Handbook of Interracial and Intercultural Relationships and Mental Health. Routledge. Additionally, a later appreciative contact with a lecture participant contributed to a book about couples living across nations in 2024. Singla, R. (2024) "Living Apart Together Transnationally (LATT): promoting mental health and intimacy". Springer The contact is continuing and also contributed to a Danish publication
