Proyectos de intervención en ciudades fronterizas: de espacios de convivencia hacia la construcción de espacios justos

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This article aims to reflect on spatial practices and the process of constructing links between the inmobile population and the locals living in Tapachula, Chiapas and Tenosique, Tabasco in the south-east of Mexico. By identifying links that formed due to a project with impact and in the recurring meetings with activities, fun and formative workshops implemented in two strategic neighborhoods in these two cities, we showed that creating, facilitating and generating cooperation processes in public spaces not only allows us to promote co-existencem but also to create fair spaces where the inhabitants can come together to identify common problems and their possible solutions with the aim of eliminating spatial inequality. The empirical data were collected throughout the intervention work carried out between november 2022 and july 2024.
