Research on Measurement Method of Liquid Viscosity Coefficient Based on Tuning Fork Vibration
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: A method for measuring the viscosity coefficient of liquids based on the vibration of a tuning fork is proposed. A vibrating plate is fixed at the bottom of the tuning fork arm, and the plate is immersed in the liquid to be measured. By using electromagnetic driving, the tuning fork drives the vibrating plate to make one-dimensional reciprocating motion in the liquid. The measurement of liquid viscosity coefficient is realized by measuring the influence of liquid viscous shear force on vibration characteristics. The correctness of the method is verified by experimental data, and the main sources of measurement errors including density measurement and resonance frequency drift are analyzed. By adding a temperature control device, the measurement of liquid viscosity coefficient at different temperatures can be realized. The device can not only deepen students’ understanding of fluid viscosity and vibration principles, but also provide a new solution for measuring liquid viscosity coefficient in laboratory.
