Abstract: Coriolis force refers to the vector product of velocity of the moving object and the angular velocity of the moving frame of reference, and is a very important knowledge point in College Physics. On the earth surface, due to the earth’s rotation along its axis in an sphere coordination, the Coriolis forces exert on the moving object, such as the flowing water and atmosphere are complicated. Therefore it is difficult for an grade-one college student to form a clear physical image. This paper provides a detailed analysis of the general vector projection expression of the Coriolis force on the earth’s surface and quantitatively analyzes the impact of this force on the motion of some macroscopic objects, providing a reference for the teaching and learning of related physics courses.
