Abstract: Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) leverages the sensitivity of optical fibers to detect environmental vibrations. This study demonstrates the capability of DAS to identify and characterize the acoustic signatures of passing vessels, highlighting its potential to enhance maritime surveillance and monitoring.
