Peltier Cell Thermoelectric Generators: an Analysis of Applications in the Distributed and Secondary Electric Power Industry

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Relevance Peltier element thermoelectric generators are considered as one of the promising areas of distributed energy, which makes it possible to efficiently utilize low-potential heat and increase the energy efficiency of industrial and infrastructural systems. Aim of research The purpose of the study is to analyze the applications of thermoelectric generators in generator mode, to assess their effectiveness, economic feasibility and prospects for integration into secondary and distributed energy systems. Research methods The paper uses methods of theoretical analysis, calculations of efficiency and power, a patent and bibliographic review, as well as a comparative analysis of technical and economic indicators for various areas of application of TEG. Results It has been established that thermoelectric generators are most effective in niche areas such as space, autonomous systems and IoT devices; areas of efficiency improvement (increased ZT, cascade circuits, new materials) have been identified and the prospects for their integration into smart energy and urban systems have been proven.
