Role of ECMO in Severe Dengue: Experience and Lessons Learnt

Abstract: ECMO offer a salvage option in selected severe dengue patients; however, profound capillary leak, coagulopathy and MODS remain obstacles.The need for VA-ECMO, high lactate levels, and CRRT requirement were associated with increased mortality.Larger multicenter datasets are required to develop selection criteria and improve survival outcomes in dengue patients requiring ECMO.
