Abstract: Plants have evolved diverse regenerative strategies, such as somatic embryogenesis and de novo organ regeneration, governed by key transcription factors. This commentary summarizes the evolutionary trajectories of three conserved regulators—LEC2, WOX, and euANT—that orchestrate stem cell fate transitions during regeneration.
