Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Ankle dislocation without associated fractures is a rare event. We present a case of pure ankle dislocation in a 23-year-old male with no associated bone injuries. Surgical treatment was chosen due to the high functional demands of the patient, where a capsuloligamentous injury and syndesmotic instability were identified and subsequently repaired during surgery. The ankle was immobilized in a plaster cast for 21 days, weight-bearing was allowed after 45 days. A full range of motion and return to daily activities was achieved in three months; two years after surgery the patient doesnt complain of any pain during both daily and sport activities.
