Scintillation Properties of Sr-admixed Ce-doped CaHfO3 Single Crystals

Abstract: Sr-admixed Ce:CaHfO 3 single crystals were synthesized by the floating zone method, and their photoluminescence and scintillation properties were investigated.The 5d-4f transition of Ce 3+ exhibited blue luminescence at around 430 nm with the fast decay time in the 20 ns range.The maximum quantum yield of Sr-admixed Ce:CaHfO 3 was 57%.In scintillation, Sr-admixed Ce:CaHfO 3 showed bright luminescence.The maximum light yield was 2880 photons/MeV with low afterglow.
