Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse the evolution of regional disparities in employment and unemployment in Romania over the period 2000-2024. The analysis is conducted at the level of NUTS 2 development regions and distinguishes between the pre-accession period to the European Union (2000-2006) and the post-accession period (2007-2024), to capture the role of the European context in labour market dynamics. Using official statistics and dispersion measures, the paper describes the main trends and highlights persistent differences between more developed and lagging regions.
