OPTIMIZATION OF AIR TIGHTNESS IN PASSIVE BUILDINGS – CASE STUDY ON REDUCING THE AIR CHANGE RATE n₅₀
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The paper presents an experimental study on air tightness testing of an energyefficient building, according to the Passivhaus standard. The “blower door” test was carried out before and after the implementation of sealing measures, achieving a reduction in the air change rate n₅₀ from 0.2521 h⁻¹ to 0.07475 h⁻¹. The testing method, materials used, and the impact of construction interventions on energy performance are analyzed. The results confirm the importance of execution details in achieving the passive house standard and highlight the relevance of this approach for sustainable buildings in Romania.
