Project 6: Administrative supplement

Year: 2025
Type: preprint
Abstract: Effective communication strategies are crucial for promoting informed decision-making, encouraging risk-concordant mammography screening behavior, and facilitating the adoption of risk-stratified screening protocols. However, existing research on risk rejection has predominantly centered on white women, leaving Black women and other minoritized racial and ethnic groups severely underrepresented. The goal of this research is to explore the within-group heterogeneity in rejection of personalized breast cancer risk information among Black women. This research is funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health administrative supplement to R01CA279953 (PIs Laura D. Scherer and Erika A. Waters).
