Abstract: ABSTRACT Slip sensing is a fundamental aspect of tactile perception in robotic systems, enabling intelligent and adaptive grasping across a wide range of applications, such as industrial automation, agricultural harvesting, prosthetic devices, and surgical tools. Accurate detection of slip is essential for regulating grasping force, preventing object damage, and maintaining manipulation stability. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in slip sensoring technologies, based on different mechanisms, including mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, magnetic, and acoustic. We further examine their applications in robotics platforms such as robotic hands and grippers, surgical forceps, and smart gloves, highlighting emerging trends and future research directions. The insights offered in this review provide a timely guide for the future slip sensors with enhanced precision, adaptability, and real‐world applicability.
