Abstract: Background Schizophrenia is a serious chronic mental disorder. Cognitive dysfunction, as one of the main pathological features, seriously affects the daily life and social function recovery of patients. Meanwhile, traditional cognitive rehabilitation training is limited by problems such as a single training mode and insufficient interactivity, and its rehabilitation effect is difficult to meet expectations. Immersive human-computer interaction technology, with its advantages such as strong immersion, high interactivity and scenario-based simulation, provides new ideas for cognitive rehabilitation training of schizophrenia patients. Therefore, the specific therapeutic effect of this technology in cognitive rehabilitation of schizophrenia patients has been studied and explored. Methods The study took 60 patients with cognitive deficits in schizophrenia as the research subjects and randomly and equally divided them into the experimental group and the control group. Among them, the experimental group designed modules such as scenario-based task simulation, interactive memory enhancement, and multi-step decision-making training based on the immersive human-computer interaction interface rehabilitation training system based on VR technology. The training duration was 45 minutes per session, the cycle was 5 sessions per week, and the continuous training lasted for 8 weeks. The control group only adopted the traditional computerized cognitive training system, and the training dimensions, duration, frequency, etc. were all consistent with those of the experimental group. The study adopted the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status. The cognitive function and Living ability of the two groups of patients were evaluated by RBANS, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), and Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL). All data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 statistical software. Paired t-tests were used for comparisons before and after within groups, and independent sample t-tests were used for comparisons between groups. Results The experimental results are shown in Table 1. It can be seen from Table 1 that, in the RBANS score, the attention dimension score (32.5) and working memory score (35.8) of the experimental group were both higher than those of the control group (p<.001). In the WCST test, the number of completed classifications in the experimental group (5.3) was significantly higher than that in the control group (p<.001), while the error rate (28.21%) and the number of persistent errors (4.1) were significantly lower than those in the control group (p<.001). The ADL score of the experimental group (85.7) was also significantly higher than that of the control group (p<.001). Discussion Compared with traditional computerized cognitive training, cognitive rehabilitation training based on immersive human-computer interaction interfaces has better therapeutic effects in improving the cognitive function and daily living ability of patients with schizophrenia, and is conducive to achieving the full recovery of patients from clinical symptom relief to social function.
