Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The fast-changing nature of technology and organizational behaviour has greatly influenced the contemporary working environment, resulting in the widespread adoption of remote, on-site, and hybrid work models. The purpose of this study is to compare the preference and perception of employees towards the remote and on-site work environments, specifically in terms of factors such as motivation, level of stress, communication, work-life balance, and organizational support. The study is descriptive and comparative in nature and is based on primary data gathered from employees in the IT and service sectors using a structured questionnaire. Secondary data was gathered from journals, articles, and existing studies. Frequency analysis, Chi-square test, ANOVA, and rank analysis were employed as statistical tools for data analysis. The results show that while remote work provides flexibility, reduced travel time, and better work-life balance, it also poses challenges such as feelings of isolation and lack of communication. On-site work provides better teamwork and supervision but may also increase stress levels because of strict schedules and travel time. The study concludes that no work model is best suited for all employees, emphasizing the need for flexible and supportive work policies to improve employee satisfaction and organizational performance.
