Abstract: With a privileged location, in southern Transylvania and central Romania, Sibiu County is characterized by a rich and unique historical journey. This leaves its marks on the current development of Sibiu, the resources that the county has: its population, the workforce, the variety of economic activities carried out, the multiculturalism ensuring, among other elements, a constant and balanced growth, to which both the urban and rural area contribute. Our analysis is focused on the demographic dynamics of Sibiu County during the period 2015- 2025. We aim to identify the directions of numerical and structural evolution, the particularities of the urban/rural environment, respectively the specifics of Sibiu's demographic development, compared to the trends recorded at the national level, but also to capture the economic impact of the demographic transformations. We thus aim to recognize the importance of the population in the economy of Sibiu County, supporting the need for a more efficient use of the labor resources it possesses.
