Formulation and Evaluation of Ketoconazole Sustained Release Tablet

Abstract: Sustained release tablets of ketoconazole were using chitosan polymer. The tablets were evaluated for preformulation studies like angle of repose, bulk density, compressibility index and physical characteristic like hardness, weight variation, friability test, In-vitro release of drug in 24-hours. All the physical characteristic of the fabricated tablets were within acceptable limits. The result of drug dissolution studies shown improved drug release, retardation effect of the polymer and could achieve better performance.
