Evaluation, Staging, and Prognosis of Congestive Hepatopathy in Patients With Noncongenital Advanced Heart Failure
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Heart failure (HF) is one of the most prevalent conditions, estimated to affect more than 64 million individuals worldwide 1. The HF prevalence has increased over the last decades due to novel therapeutic options and an aging population. It is projected that in the United States (US), the prevalence of HF will increase by approximately 46% from 2012 to 2030 1. Advanced heart failure (AHF) involves patients who have failed conventional treatment strategies. Management options include palliation or candidacy for left ventricular assist device (LVAD) or heart transplant (HTx)2.
