Abstract: The article aims to line up the main design aspects that are to be accounted in the process of designing an inland vessel for navigating on the Danube River from Passau Port (at Km 2233) to Sulina (at Km 0). The design process itself is comprehensive and must comply with many regulations and the Danube River environmental parameters. Therefore, this article will offer an organized perspective about what must be considered depending on the type of vessel and specific navigation sector.
